Hello Maestro series !

It all began in April 1979, FR3 broadcasts the first episode of "Once Upon a Time ... Man." A funny man with the flowing beard tells the story of humanity, the origins of life until the end of the 20th century. A family through time, facing the great events of history. The success was immediate, children and unanimous relatives plébiscitent program. Building on this success, Albert Barillé then conceives six other series, whose fame far beyond the French framework. It is estimated, taking into account the many reruns, more than 4 billion children have seen at least one episode of a series, which is broadcast and rebroadcast in more than 120 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia, USA , Canada, Latin America... ).

The history of man from his earliest origins to our own times. The action centers around the members of one family. We find these characters in the different settings of each episode (with the pertinent costumes, circumstances, and ways of life), facing the problems of everyday existence in their time.

We are now going to follow our friends through the Universe which is becoming the "Far West" of our era and will continue to be in the decades to come. The space opera episodes provide a continuing theme for the entire series and are interspersed with other episodes on pre-historic man, ecology, new sources of energy and so forth... Finally at the end of the narrative our friends are faced with serious problems which escape solution in spite of their knowledge. They are then assisted by superior beings who have come from the unknown...

The series tells us the fabulous story of the human body. Here we go to the microcosm where life begins: the very core of the human being, its organs and cells, where life develops and is sustained. Our heroes are the defenders of the body. The nasties are there too: the Pest and the Dwarf are agressive viruses or bacteria.

"Once upon a time... the Americas" tells us the story of this vast continent. Our friendly little heroes will take us to discover the various stages that sometimes tore apart, sometimes united the people of this land, from the earlier hunters to the Incas up to the first settlers from Europe...

Here we tell the exciting story of the great discoveries and of those who made them, thus shaping the world to make it what it is today. From Chinese writing to the invention of the automobile, taking us from electricity, to vaccination, measurements, etc. Maestro guides us through the centuries introducing us to the greatest scholars, Newton, Galileo, Faraday, Edison, Darwin, Gutenberg, Einstein, Marie Curie…

"Once upon a time... the Explorers" is a counterpart to "... the Discoverers", which took us along the route to discovery of scientific knowledge. "The Explorers", on the other hand, take us to unknown lands and horizons. They will show us how we came to know our planet which a very few centuries ago, we must never forget, was just a terra incognita...

In "Once Upon a Time... Planet Earth", Maestro will draw the children's attention to the importance of Sustainable Development. Our young heroes are now secondary school pupils, aged 13 and 14 years old. They have grown up and will be confronted during the 26 episodes to problems related to global warming, pollution, drought, decrease of energy resources, poverty...
